Named after William Cumber CBE, who was the stalwart Farmers Club Chairman throughout the Second World War, and the only Chairman to serve longer than 2-years. He served with great determination and perseverance, holding the fort during the difficult war years. He was behind the great revival of the Club’s fortunes and had the farsighted vision to expand the Club in its current location.
