Although unassuming from the outside, Leighton House and Sambourne House are fascinating sister museums located in Kensington.
They offer joint visits to explore the contrasting lifestyles of academic painter Lord Leighton and Punch cartoonist Edward Linley Sambourne, who were friends and neighbours.
The artists were contemporaries who shared acquaintances, and their homes reflect the shared Victorian taste for collecting.
After having visited Sir John Soane’s house turned Museum from the Regency era and late Georgian period twice with Members, we continue exploring significant homes to the late creative minds of Britain.
What is extraordinary about these once-residences is the intimate peek they allow into a by-gone era.
The private nature of these tours makes the visits even more special, while in large London Museums there is no opportunity to time-travel with a small group.
After the tours, if you wish to have dinner at the club please let us know and we will book you in at the Restaurant. We will book all those interested in the same table.
