Maintaining the standards and atmosphere of the Club
To preserve the welcoming and respectful environment of The Farmers Club, members and their guests are kindly asked to adhere to the following guidelines.
Dress Code Policy
Smart Casual Dress. Smart Casual dress is permitted every morning, Monday to Thursday inclusive until 10am and all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Smart casual dress applies throughout August.
Smart Casual Dress allows members to wear long or short-sleeved full button-fronted shirts or smart polo shirts, smart denim jeans and ‘fashion’ pumps. Smart trainers are acceptable, however, not encouraged.
Unacceptable clothes include torn, frayed, faded or bleached clothing of any type, sportswear, shorts, T-shirts, leggings and jogging suits in any material, bare midriffs or excessively revealing clothing, and plastic flip flops.
Normal Club Dress. After 10am on Monday to Thursday, Gentlemen are to wear a formal jacket and appropriate trousers or suit and tie in all public areas of the Club. Ladies are to comply with the spirit of the code. In exceptionally warm weather, the Chief Exec, will allow gentlemen to remove their jackets in the Club, including on the Terrace.
Meetings & Functions. Those members and guests attending a meeting or function that has been booked with the Club Management in any of the function rooms are requested to wear a shirt with collar and a jacket (or equivalent for ladies), a tie whilst preferred is optional. If members and guests utilise the bar facilities, dining room, lounge or Shaw Room they are expected to adhere to the Normal Dress Code.
Electronic Devices
To maintain a calm and considerate environment:
- Electronic devices are not to be used in hallways, the Bar, Lounge or Restaurant, except for quiet reading.
- Calls must not be made or received in the public rooms.
- Calls may be taken on the Terrace.
- Devices may be used in the Shaw Room, but must be set to silent or vibrate.
- No calls may be made or received in the Shaw Room.
Guests
Members are responsible for ensuring their guests adhere to the Club’s guidelines at all times.
