Join us on the 4th of August for a visit to the London Transport Museum’s Depot in Acton, where we will have the opportunity to learn about their extensive artwork and poster collection from the hands of one of their knowledgeable guides.
We will hear the story behind London Underground poster commissioning, from its roots in 1908, the development of branding for London’s transport, poster design during the World Wars and post-war era, and the ‘Golden Age’ of poster design in the 1920s and 1930s. As well as later collaborations with renowned artists.
The tour commences at 14:30 at the LTM Depot in Acton and lasts for 90-minutes. We will head out via public transport from the Club. We encourage members to enjoy the nice weather on the terrace at the Club for lunch or a snack before heading out, but members are welcome to meet us on the Acton site at 14:20 for the tour if preferred.
After the visit we will head back to the Club, an option for an early dinner is available in one of the ticket types, although not mandatory to attend the actual visit.
