Farmers Club Members continue to show great enthusiasm for visits to the Elizabeth Tower, and the Club will therefore continue to organise tours while interest remains strong.
To date, close to 110 Members have climbed the Tower, and we warmly invite those who have not yet experienced the Elizabeth Tower from within to join us on this exceptional visit.
Following lunch at the Club, Members will ascend the 334-step spiral staircase on a guided tour to the summit of London’s most iconic clock tower, widely known as Big Ben. The ascent leads to the belfry, home to the Great Clock and the renowned Great Bell.
During the tour, there will be a rare opportunity to observe the intricate workings of the clock mechanism and to stand beside the Great Bell as it strikes the hour. Members will also learn about the Tower’s 160-year history and the extensive conservation programme that has preserved it for future generations. The visit concludes with time to explore the magnificent medieval Westminster Hall.
